Answers to common questions
  1. How do I get started with a commission work?
If you have a strong image in mind that you would like to discuss with Bobbie please call the phone number 303-838-4292. Although most of her work in in the realistic wildlife arena, recently she did a Chinese Dragon for a client for the Year 2000. She would love to hear your ideas and determine what visions you have for your own commission piece.

  2. What materials are available for commission?
Bobbie works in bronze, stone, and semi-precious gem stones. Although the process in each material has variations and time to completion profiles, she will work with you to execute your vision. Semi-precious stones are also available with material to be supplied by the studio or yourself, call to discuss 303-838-4292.

  3. How long does it take to complete the commission?
Size and material type are two import considerations in determining a schedule. Schedule allowing a regular size bronze may take 3-6 months, whereas a monumental may take up to 18 months. Stone may vary depending upon size and material.

  4. What approval stages do I have during the process of the commission?
A meeting of the minds is the first usual step. A miniature clay model called a "mockette" is to work out any of the physical aspects of the commission. An approval stage occurs when you get to view this mockette and present feedback. A series of revisions to the mockette will finalize the design of the final piece. At this point the process can change if it is going into bronze or stone. Each material and project type may have intermediate stages to ensure accuracy of the commission.

  5. How much does a commission cost?
The cost will vary according to the size, material, complexity of the piece. Generally the costs are very reasonable for the level of mastery that Bobbie Lorett has over the subject material and the different media. To obtain an estimate call Bobbie at 303-838-4292.

  6. Does the cost change if I want the commission one of a kind?
Generally the cost is far greater if you want the only version of the piece. Additionally, stone pieces are always unique. If you don't desire a one of a kind, the costs of production can be deferred to other customers through selling a limited number of copies.

  7. What payments are expected during the sculpture commission?
Once an agreement is made to commence the commission one third to one half of the price is required up front. Other payments will be discussed with you prior to commencement.

  8. If I don't live near your studio, what can I expect?
Same process described above except pictures will be sent of the mockette for approval.
